21/01/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 21 January, the European Commission approved Italian public aid worth €18.2 million for investments in the dairy sector. The support will go to Centro Latte Bressanone, a cooperative of producers in South Tyrol, for the extension of its mozzarella and ricotta production lines, the launch of new products such as burrata and the optimisation of its production cycle. According to the Commission, the measure will strengthen the local supply chain, support demand for milk from regional farmers and promote the circular economy by making better use of whey. The aid, granted in the form of a direct subsidy, is deemed proportionate and complies with European state aid rules. (LC)
