On Monday 12 January, the European Commission imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of barium carbonate from China and India.
The anti-dumping investigation was launched in December 2024, following a complaint lodged by German chemical specialist Kandelium Group GmbH (see EUROPE 13550/23), which was followed by the application of provisional anti-dumping duties on these imports from August 2025.
Definitive anti-dumping duties range from 72.6% to 83.9% for imports originating in China, and 4.6% for those originating in India.
The regulation imposing the definitive anti-dumping duty was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 13 January and came into force the following day.
