03/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 3 December, the Member States’ representatives to the EU (Coreper) validated the EU Council Presidency’s compromise on the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), as part of the EU’s future Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period 2028-2034 (see EUROPE 13683/3). This mechanism supports investment in trans-European transport and energy infrastructure networks. The compromise text, which is likely to be amended slightly, could be adopted by the European energy ministers on Monday 15 December. This will be a partial agreement, as the provisions with budgetary implications are pending the forthcoming decision on the MFF (see EUROPE 13764/7). (PLD)
