European Research Council awarding €684 million in grants to 66 teams tackling major scientific challenges

06/11/2025 (Agence Europe) – Sixty-six research teams, bringing together 239 scientists, will receive €684 million in Synergy grants from the European Research Council, announced the European Commission in a press release on Thursday 6 November. These grants support small groups of researchers working together on ambitious, high-risk, high-gain projects. 712 proposals were submitted, of which around one in ten were selected.
