National Assembly votes no confidence in government

08/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 September, the French National Assembly overturned the government of Prime Minister François Bayrou in a vote of confidence by 364 votes to 194. The Prime Minister had requested this vote on the state of public finances. Mr Bayrou is expected to tender his resignation on Tuesday. (CG)
