Directive on quality traineeships - clarifications on exclusion of traineeships linked to active labour market policies

Contrary to what we wrote (see EUROPE B13652A19), the Polish Presidency’s new compromise on quality traineeships has not entirely excluded traineeships carried out as part of active labour market policies from the scope of the directive.

This only applies to Chapters II (equal treatment) and IV (implementing measures) of the Directive, and not to Chapter III on ‘false traineeships’, as mistakenly stated. This exception for Chapter III also poses a problem for a number of delegations,...
