Romania activates EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism following floods at Praid salt mine

04/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Union is sending experts in rock mechanics and salt mining to Romania to support efforts to restore the Praid salt mine after the floods, the European Commission announced on Wednesday 4 June. A team of eight experts will be deployed on the ground for a week, as part of the Civil Protection Mechanism activated by Romania.
