06/05/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 6 May, the European Union and the government of Botswana launched a programme to support digital transformation. The aim is to enhance digital skills and entrepreneurship, strengthen digital governance and promote “inclusive” access to public services in this southern African country, particularly for young people, women and marginalised communities, said the EU delegation to Botswana in a statement on Monday. The programme will be implemented through the Global Gateway strategy and increased support from France, Estonia and Finland, which will provide technical expertise and additional investments. The exact amount of funding allocated by the EU to this programme could not be communicated to Agence Europe before it went to press. (BD)
