Copernicus observes striking east-west contrast in European climate conditions in 2024

2024 was the hottest year ever recorded in Europe, with highly contrasting weather conditions between east and west and widespread flooding, according to the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), which is publishing the “European State of the Climate” 2024 report with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on Tuesday 15 April.
