Several MEPs call on EU to target US digital giants in response to Donald Trump’s tariffs

It is now just a matter of hours before US President Donald Trump unveils the extent of his so-called “reciprocal” tariffs, scheduled for 2 April. The European Commission is trying to reassure citizens and businesses: “We will approach these negotiations from a position of strength. Europe holds a lot of cards. From trade to technology to the size of our market”, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told MEPs on Tuesday 1 April.
