21/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – European Commissioner for Trade Maroš Šefčovič will be in China from Thursday to Saturday, 27 to 29 March. He would like to continue the dialogue on the points on which the EU and Beijing disagree with regard to trade – first and foremost among which figure imports of Chinese battery-powered electric vehicles – in person. The commissioner indicated that he wanted to convey Europe’s concerns about unfair competition – which, in his words, “we cannot leave unaddressed” – to his Chinese counterparts. The meetings will also aim to find solutions to market-access issues and to ensure that Chinese investments in the EU truly support European value chains. (LM)
