27/01/25 (Agence Europe) – The EU foreign affairs ministers, meeting in the Foreign Affairs Council on Monday 27 January (see other news), confirmed the appointment of Peter Sørensen as the new EU special representative for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia (see EUROPE 13480/13). The Danish diplomat previously held the post of EU special representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as that of EU ambassador and head of delegation in Skopje and head of delegation in Geneva to the United Nations Office and other specialised agencies. He will now be responsible for facilitating dialogue with a view to normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo. Peter Sørensen is due to take up his post on 1 February, for an initial term of 13 months, as the mandate of the outgoing envoy, Miroslav Lajcak, expires on 31 January. (IS)
