On Wednesday 15 January, the Clean Hydrogen Partnership announced the launch of its 2025 call for proposals to support renewable hydrogen projects to the tune of €184.5 million under the Horizon Europe programme.
The projects aim to achieve renewable hydrogen production, develop cost-effective hydrogen storage solutions and provide reliable and scalable fuel cell systems for heavy-duty vehicles and marine applications.
In addition, the call allocates €80 million from the RePowerEU plan for the continued development of hydrogen valleys across Europe “in a drive to support both large and small-scale Hydrogen ecosystems integrating production, distribution, and use”, said Valérie Bouillon-Delporte, the Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
The rest of the funding is broken down into €40 million for renewable hydrogen production, €16 million for hydrogen storage and distribution, €17 million for transport applications, €5 million for heat and power and €6.5 million for cross-cutting activities.
A further €20 million comes from contributions from the United Kingdom, which is available to support projects on the reserve lists.
Applications must be submitted by 23 April 2025.
