In a study published on Tuesday 7 January, the NGO network Transport & Environment (T&E) recommends that EU Member States implement a “right to plug” to enable drivers of electric vehicles living in buildings to install a charger in their private parking space at their own expense.
T&E says that the rules of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) (see EUROPE B13535A6) are too vague and lack concrete targets to ensure easy and rapid access to private recharging.
