On 16 December, the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (ERYICA) published a set of recommendations and guidelines to ensure that young people have fair access to reliable information and high-quality counselling services.
This report was coordinated by Jaana Fedotoff, former President of ERYICA (2016-2022) and Head of the Finnish National Centre of Expertise of Youth Information and Counselling, Koordinaatti (2006-2024).
The recommendations, drawn up in collaboration with Finnish players specialising in information and counselling for young people from ‘Koordinaatti’ and municipal and voluntary organisations involved in youth work, are based on the European Youth Information Charter adopted in 2018.
They focus on the visibility of information services, the definition of national priorities, the clarification of counselling structures, the consolidation of concepts linked to these services, the principle of universality and the design of services centred on the user experience. These are all recommendations for strengthening young people’s rights to appropriate information and relevant support in a rapidly changing world.
