08/01/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 January, the European Commission announced that 35,762 18-year-olds will receive a travel pass to explore Europe as part of the DiscoverEU initiative. Launched in 2018 as part of the Erasmus+ programme, DiscoverEU allows young people to travel mainly by train, alone or in groups of up to five. This cycle, open to young people from the Member States and associated countries who will have turned 18 in 2024, attracted more than 135,000 applications. The winners will be able to travel between March 2025 and May 2026 and take part in preparatory training courses and meetings across Europe.
