05/12/24 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 4 December, experts from the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS) presented to MEPs on the Development Committee (DEVE) the conclusions of a study on the implementation of the EU’s political commitment, “Policy Coherence for Development” (‘PCD’), with a view to reducing poverty and supporting development cooperation. The authors noted strong political support for the PCD through the EU institutions. However, they emphasise its slow implementation, which is hampered in particular by a lack of conceptual clarity.
