EU Council gives green light to €116 million in emergency aid for Germany and Italy following floods

18/11/24 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 18 November, the EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate a decision to mobilise the European Union Solidarity Fund for Germany and Italy following natural disasters in 2024 (see EUROPE B13512A9). This aid, from the EU’s 2024 budget, amounts to €112.071 million for Germany (floods in May and June 2024) and €3.959 million for Italy (floods on 29 June 2024 in the autonomous region of Valle d’Aosta).
