05/11/24 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 4 November, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) published an interim report on an incident that occurred on 21 June 2024 in South-East Europe, causing major disruption to the continental European (CE) electricity system and a temporary inability to meet electricity demand. The incident affected Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia. The ENTSO-E report details the conditions leading up to the incident, the progress of the event, the immediate response after the incident and the communication between the coordination centres and the transmission system operators (TSOs). The report classifies this incident as category 3 on the Incident Classification Scale (ICS) and is intended to serve as a basis for further investigation by a group of experts, with a view to a final report.
