Entry into force of digital identity verification for registering products in European energy labelling register

The European Commission has announced that, from 22 October, verification of digital identity has become compulsory for all suppliers who register their product models in the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL).

According to the Commission, this obligation to check the database is intended to guarantee the quality, reliability and usefulness of the information provided to consumers and public authorities.
