Approval for Swedish State aid of €128 million to help SSAB decarbonise its steel production

21/10/24 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 21 October, the European Commission authorised €128 million in Swedish aid to help SSAB decarbonise its steel production. SSAB’s project involves moving from the current coal-based steel production process in Luleå to a system with virtually zero emissions. The measure will be made available through the (European) Just Transition Fund. The aid will take the form of a direct grant and will support the accelerated transition to an electric steel...
