Online child sexual abuse material, Hungarian Presidency of EU Council to relaunch discussions with Member States on 4 September

On Wednesday 4 September, the Hungarian Presidency of the EU Council will again sound out the Member States on the future of the regulation on the removal of online child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

After the latest setback on 20 June (see EUROPE B13436A11) under the Belgian Presidency, the Hungarian Presidency will propose to the Member States that they adopt Belgium’s latest compromise proposal, but could suggest that they remove the detection of new CSAM and grooming from the scope...
