02/09/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 2 September, the EU delegation to Ukraine announced the opening of a “community resilience centre” called ‘Place of Strength’ in Nizhyn, in the Chernihiv Oblast region. “Generous funding from the European Union” in the amount of around $125,000, the centre will host seminars and training sessions aimed at building resilience and improving the mental health of young people and families affected by the war. The centre will also serve as a hub for initiatives to enhance community safety and environmental awareness. “We are convinced that meaningful and impactful reconstruction starts at local level, as communities understand best their own needs, challenges and opportunities”, said Stefan Schleuning, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation, on Monday.
