01/07/24 (Agence Europe) – The revised REMIT Regulation (on the integrity and transparency of the wholesale energy market), which came into force on 7 May 2024, imposes new data reporting requirements. The European Commission will therefore have to revise the REMIT implementing regulation by 8 May 2025. To facilitate this process, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) announced on 28 June that it would be conducting a public consultation until 6 September 2024 to answer stakeholders' questions on the annex to the REMIT implementing regulation. This annex specifies the data requirements for various gas and electricity supply and transport contracts. The comments will enable ACER to refine its proposal, which it will send to the European Commission. The Agency will publish a report on the consultation by mid-October 2024.
