01/07/24 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 1 July, the European Commission opened an anti-dumping investigation into imports of epoxy resin (hardening resin) from China, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. It received a complaint to this effect from European Union producers in early June. They based this in particular on the Commission’s report on Chinese economic practices, published in April (see EUROPE 13388/26). In particular, they showed that China had substantially increased its production capacity for the main input in epoxy resin production, thanks to public aid. The Commission considers that the complainants have provided sufficient evidence to justify opening an investigation. See the notice of initiation of the EU institution: https://aeur.eu/f/cwh (LM)
