21/06/24 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 21 June, the European Commission announced that it had authorised a Hungarian measure worth €35 million in favour of Hyginett Magyar-Amerikai Higiéniai Cikkeket Gyártó Kft (‘Hyginett’), part of the Procter and Gamble group, for the extension of its toothbrush manufacturing plant in Gyöngyös. The aid will reach Hyginet in the form of a direct grant of €35 million. The public funding will support Hyginett’s investment of €135.3 million. The project is expected to create more than 170 direct jobs and a potential 800 indirect jobs. The Commission found that the Hungarian measure complied with European rules on State aid, in particular Article 107(3)(a) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU. (EV)
