21/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 20 March, the Lombardy Region held its first regional ‘Competitiveness Table’ in Brussels, bringing together all the professional associations at a time of transition to the next European Commission, with which it wants to establish a “direct relationship” in close collaboration with the other industrially advanced European regions, and to which it is sending 11 proposals for improving industrial competitiveness in the EU, particularly that of SMEs. The proposals cover areas as varied as attracting investment, developing the local economy, supporting the social economy, improving access to credit, promoting sustainable energy and independence of supply, developing production chains and ecosystems, strengthening the manufacturing sector, supporting micro-enterprises, revising the Stability and Growth Pact, promoting technological neutrality and reviewing tax policy.
