More than 3.5 million workers received training from 2,500 organisations as part of the Pact for Skills in 2022 and 2023, the Commission announced on Thursday 21 March, publishing a preliminary assessment.
The survey “shows how the 20 large-scale Skills Partnerships created so far under the Pact [launched at the end of 2020 - editor’s note] have helped to improve the skills of workers in strategic sectors such as microelectronics, renewable energies, maritime technologies, textiles, agri-food and digital ecosystems”.
Together, “the Large-scale Skills Partnerships have collectively pledged to train over 25 million people by 2030”.
In total, 48,000 training courses have been updated or developed thanks to the Pact, with its members investing €310 million in training programmes.
The 745 Pact member organisations consulted said that being part of a large-scale skills partnership had improved the monitoring and anticipation of skills in their sector (80%), improved the quality (75%) and increased the volume (73%) of training activities; 92,000 players had been brought together in skills networks since 2022 and 48,000 training courses had been updated or developed.
A full assessment will be published in April.
