05/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – In a press release issued on Tuesday 5 March, the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) welcomed the previous day’s vote by Members of the European Parliament on the Regulation on the use of railway infrastructure capacity (see EUROPE 13363/9). However, the CER said it was “dismayed to see the excessively high number of implementing acts and delegated acts provided for in the European Parliament report”. In its view, these additional secondary acts will hamper the implementation of the regulation. It would like the role of the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) to remain within its current scope in terms of digital capacity management and the European framework for performance review. It would also like the regulatory bodies and the European Network of Rail Regulatory Bodies (ENRRB) to remain limited to ex-post supervision. (AD)
