European Parliament/EU Council agreement on environmental, social and governance ratings

On the evening of Monday 5 February, negotiators from the European Parliament and the EU Council reached a provisional agreement on environmental, social and governance (ESG) ratings. The aim of the new regulation is to enhance the reliability and comparability of ESG ratings by improving the transparency and integrity of rating providers' operations and preventing potential conflicts of interest.
