On Thursday 1 February, the Belgian Presidency of the EU Council informed the European Parliament teams - namely the chairman of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee (EMPL), Dragoș Pîslaru (Renew Europe, Romanian), and the German rapporteur, Gabriele Bischoff (S&D) - that it did not intend to engage in new negotiations on the still open and conflicting chapters of the reform of Regulation 883/2004 on the coordination of social security rules.
