02/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 2 February, the Council of the European Union decided to extend by one year, until 20 February 2025, its restrictive measures in force against a Zimbabwean company. These measures consist of an embargo on arms and equipment likely to be used for internal repression and a targeted asset freeze against Zimbabwe Defence Industries. Since February 2022, no-one has been on the list (see EUROPE 12896/10). The EU will continue to follow developments in Zimbabwe closely, paying particular attention to the human rights situation, and reiterates its readiness to adapt all its policies accordingly, the Council stresses.
