02/02/24 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 1 February, Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton and Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, François-Philippe Champagne, held an initial meeting to begin work on implementing the EU-Canada Digital Partnership (see EUROPE 13301/10). The EU and Canada finalised this partnership on 24 November at a summit in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This partnership should serve to strengthen cooperation in the fields of AI, quantum science, semiconductors, public policy related to online platforms, secure international connectivity and cyber security.
