11/01/24 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced, on Thursday 11 January, that it had authorised a Romanian aid scheme worth €126 million (around RON 626 million) to support companies in the logistics sector operating in certain Romanian sea and river ports, which are facing an increase in trade flows as a result of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
The measure, partly financed by European cohesion funds, will support investment in handling and storage facilities.The European Commission states that the measure will facilitate trade flows to and from Ukraine, in line with the objectives of the European action plan on Solidarity Lanes (see EUROPE 12951/4).
Eligible companies will be able to receive grants of up to €10 million per beneficiary. (Original version in French by Émilie Vanderhulst)
