11/01/24 (Agence Europe) – Marius Stračkaitis, President of the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries since 2008, has been appointed President of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) for 2024. The handover ceremony took place on Thursday 11 January in Vilnius (Lithuania). Mr Stračkaitis, a graduate of Vilnius University and former law professor, succeeds Peter Stelmaszczyk of Germany. A member of the General Council of the International Union of Latin Notaries since 2014 and the author of numerous legal publications, he now represents the 22 notariats of the EU and their 50,000 notaries. During his speech, in the presence of the Lithuanian Minister of Justice, Ewelina Dobrowolska, he set out his priorities for the year, particularly in the run-up to the European elections in June.
