10/01/24 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 10 January, the European Commission allocated €252 million to 37 projects as part of the Digital Programme of the Connecting Europe Facility (‘CEF Digital’), focusing on the deployment of 5G infrastructure for local communities and along major European transport corridors, as well as the deployment of submarine cables. Projects supported include maritime cable connections to Ireland and EU regions in the Atlantic Ocean, a trans-Arctic link to the Far East, improved connectivity for the Greek islands and Africa, and future-proof 5G infrastructure along cross-border transport routes.
