Serbian electoral commission confirms victory of President Aleksandar Vučić’s party in legislative elections

On Wednesday 3 January, the Serbian electoral commission confirmed the results of the legislative elections held on 17 December, thereby validating the victory of the ‘Serbian Progressive Party’ (SNS) of the incumbent president, Aleksandar Vučić.

The election was contested on 18 December by the opposition, united under the banner ‘Serbia against violence’. Credited with 23.5% of the vote, it denounced irregularities noted during the elections in several regions of the country...
