EuroHPC launches call to select host entities for at least two European quantum computers

21/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 19 December, the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) launched a call for expressions of interest to select the host entities that will eventually host and operate at least two new EuroHPC quantum computers. It plans to purchase at least two quantum computers in 2024, with a total European contribution of €20 million. This envelope will be half co-financed by the EuroHPC budget from the Digital Europe programme and half by contributions from the EuroHPC participating States. These quantum computers will be integrated into the existing supercomputers operated by the host entities. These systems will be made available to European users in the research and industrial sectors. The call is open until 31 March 2024. Link to the call: https://aeur.eu/f/a7n (EV)
