‘2023 EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard’ shows investment on rise

14/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 14 December, the European Commission published the 2023 EU Industrial Research and Development (R&D) Investment Scoreboard. The document lists and analyses the top 2,500 global companies and the top 1,000 EU-based companies with the highest R&D investment in 2022. The Commission points out that by 2022, growth in R&D investment by European businesses will have doubled. Growth in private R&D investment in the EU, meanwhile, has more than doubled compared to 2021, reaching 13.6% in 2022. American companies account for more than 42% of R&D investment by the 2,500 companies with the highest R&D investment. The EU accounted for 17.5% of the investments made by these 2,500 companies, while China’s share was 17.8%. Link to the document: https://aeur.eu/f/a4u (EV)
