08/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 8 December, the European Commission launched a public consultation seeking views and comments on the models that intermediary services and online platforms will have to use for their future transparency reports under the Digital Services Act (DSA) (see EUROPE 13293/8). These reports, relating to content moderation, must contain a certain amount of information, in particular the number of injunctions received from the competent authorities of the Member States, the human resources allocated to moderation and the number of accounts and items of content voluntarily withdrawn by the online service provider. The final format of the reports will be defined by an implementing act, which should be adopted in the early months of 2024. Comments can be submitted until 24 January.
