European Union still wants to believe in possibility of reaching a trade agreement with four Latin American countries

Following the recent setbacks in the free trade agreement negotiations (see EUROPE B13306A17), the EU and the Mercosur countries issued a joint statement on Thursday 7 December reaffirming their desire to finalise the talks despite the recent difficulties, but without providing any further technical details or setting an agenda.
