27/11/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 24 November, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, reiterated the urgent need to maintain Lebanon’s policy of dissociation from regional conflicts. He reiterated the appeal to all actors in Lebanon to refrain from actions that contribute to the escalation and spill over of hostilities and that have negative repercussions for the Lebanese people, he stressed during a meeting with the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdallah Bou Habib, according to a press release from the European External Action Service. Mr Borrell also deplored the loss of innocent lives and the large number of displaced civilians around the Israeli-Lebanese border. He also praised Lebanon’s role in collective efforts to achieve peace. (CG)
