Payment of new tranche of financial assistance to Ukraine

23/11/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission paid, on Wednesday 22 November, a further tranche of €1.5 billion to Ukraine as part of the €18 billion in European Macro-financial Assistance for 2023 (see EUROPE B13277A5). This assistance will be used to fund the immediate needs of a country suffering from Russian military aggression: paying civil servants’ salaries and pensions, maintaining public services and repairing critical infrastructure.
