European Parliament condemns ongoing deterioration of human rights situation

MEPs strongly condemned, on Thursday 23 November, the ongoing deterioration of the human rights situation in Iran and the brutal murders of women by the Iranian authorities.

In the joint resolution they adopted (516 votes in favour, 4 against and 27 abstentions), MEPs called for the immediate release of all human rights defenders and victims of arbitrary detention, and urged the Iranian authorities to put an immediate end to all discrimination against women and girls.
