In just over a year of existence, EIC Fund has invested nearly €1 billion in innovative technology companies

14/11/23 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 14 November, the European Commission announced that the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund) had passed the milestone of approving almost €1 billion in investments in innovative deep tech companies since it began operating in September 2022 (see EUROPE 13033/5). This fund within the EIC is intended for venture capital investments and was launched under Horizon Europe. The EIC points out that, since September 2022, 159 start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises have been selected under the EIC Accelerator programme through an independent process and with advice from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
