From now on, the “single notification window”—the online platform launched by the European Commission on Tuesday, 19 September—will be the single point for receiving Member States’ notifications regarding the functioning of the internal market. According to the European Commission, the new platform covers more than 500 types of notifications.
It concerns the obligations included in various legislative texts that have to do with the internal market, such as the Single Market Transparency Directive or the Energy Taxation Directive. However, it does not cover reporting obligations or even alerts that the EU27 can or must send under the scope of certain pieces of legislation.
According to the European Commission, the tool also provides information that encompasses these notification obligations and is expected to reduce the administrative burden for Member States.
