European Parliament adopts resolution deploring human rights situation and conviction of leaders of Odhikar organisation

On Thursday 14 March, the European Parliament adopted a joint motion for a resolution on the human rights situation in Bangladesh, and in particular the case of the human rights organisation Odhikar. 

In this resolution, the European Parliament expressed its deep concern at the worsening situation. It focussed on issues such as extrajudicial executions, enforced disappearances, freedom of expression and workers' rights.
