24/08/23 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 23 August, the spokesman for the European External Action Service stressed the EU's dismay at two terrorist attacks perpetrated on Saturday 19 and Monday 21 August in the occupied West Bank, which claimed the lives of three Israelis and injured another person. “The EU strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms”, the spokesman reiterated in a press release. “The EU has repeatedly expressed its concerns about the increasingly high number of casualties of the violence this year. We call on all parties to de-escalate the situation and refrain from actions that could increase the cycle of violence”, he stressed. According to an AFP count, at least 218 Palestinians, 31 Israelis and two citizens of third countries have been killed since the beginning of 2023 in violence linked to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
