06/07/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 6 July, the European University Association (EUA) called for a shift from “emergency relief” to more sustainable and long-term support measures for higher education and research in Ukraine. It therefore recommends supporting Ukrainian universities through inter-institutional partnerships, developing virtual cooperative exchanges and offering trips abroad for academics and students. It also encourages the education and research sector to be taken into account in long- and short-term reconstruction measures. Finally, it suggests improving information sharing and coordination between the main players and stakeholders in the sector. These recommendations are addressed to governments, donors and higher education and research institutes. See the recommendations: https://aeur.eu/f/7xy (HS)
