Brussels, 06/07/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission has authorised a French aid scheme worth €5 million to support starch potato producers in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Commission announced on Thursday 6 July. The aid, which will take the form of a direct subsidy, is designed to support starch potato growers who have been hard hit by the economic situation resulting from the invasion. The scheme was authorised under the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework on State aid, adopted by the Commission on 9 March 2023 to encourage support measures in sectors that are essential to accelerate the green transition and reduce fuel dependency.
